1000 shades of asphalt
(2022)

After ten years of being into downhill skateboarding I wanted to experience something that more complex and complicated. When interaction with the board doesn’t happen only in short sessions during the descent from the hill. When the survival skills are also tested in addition to riding skills. When it makes no sense to memorize all the road turns and potholes because they are new every time.

This is how LDP (long distance push) appeared in my life. A rare thing for Russia when a rider travels on public roads by a board. Within a couple of days or two dozen days depending on the route or ambitions of the skater.

The idea for this trip came up a few years ago. After a year of preparation and development of the route I started a long skate trip of a thousand kilometers together with my friend. We had a plan to ride from Krasnoyarsk almost to the source of the Yenisei river and to finish somewhere in Tyva. We decided to completely exclude hitchhiking and to ride only with the help of legs strength. Having packed relatively light backpacks we started from Krasnoyarsk and finished in 24 days.

This serie is the result of our desire to test ourselves as well as the desire to find out how different the usual road can look and feeled. And simple desire to go somewhere into the horizon.
